NETWORKING EVENTS ARE IMPORTANT TO US AND YOUR BUSINESS

Byron State Farm Ribbon Cutting Held Aug. 13

The official ribbon cutting for the new State Farm office in Byron was held Aug. 13 at 1011 Tompkins Dr. NE Suite 200, in the First Alliance Credit Union building.

The agent is Jacob C. Paulson. Surrounded by friends, city officials, and members of the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce, Jake wielded the big gold scissors to cut the red ribbon.

It’s been a long-time dream of Jake’s to open his own State Farm agency. When the State Farm agent in Kasson - Jana Nawrocki - retired, her book of business was split between the Kasson office and a new Byron agency. Jake jumped at the chance to open the agency, and he has been in the office with Office Manager Jake Melkowski, Account Representative Matthw Armstrong, and Interns Ethan Kramer and Sawyer Markham working steadily to get the agency up and running.

State Farm offers investment services as well as the standard insurance policies for vehicles, homeowners, and businesses, but also for life, long term care, disability, health insurance and Medicare supplements to name a few.

Jake has had a very busy week. On Aug. 8, he and his fiancé Nikole Schmidz were married. She stands to his right in the photo. The two will honeymoon early next year.

To reach the agency, call 507-634-4136, or access the website at https://www.statefarm.com/agent/us/mn/byron

Stone Haven Apartments Ribbon Cutting Well Attended

Dozens of well-wishers attended the ribbon-cutting party June 24 for the new Stone Haven Apartment building across Fourth St. NE from Fareway Meat and Grocery in Byron. Delicious food was provided by Chef Zach Ohly.

The building is owned and managed by Black Swan Living Property Management, LLC and opened June 1. More than half of the 1- and 2-bedroom apartments with garage options are already rented, said Stefanie Coutley, Director of Operations & Human Resources.

Black Swan owners Dr. Elaine and Nick Stageberg spoke at the ceremony and thanked the many people who helped complete this building.

Nick thanked city officials for all the help provided before and during the build, staff at the engineering firm, ISG, Inc., CRW Architecture, and Mohs Construction, who completed the build; staff at Bremer/Old National Bank for financing assistance, the tenants that have already rented the beautiful apartments; the staff members from Black Swan, who work tirelessly to keep the company’s properties in great shape, and members of the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce for their continued support.

RECENT EVENTS:

Gordon Paulman and his fiancée Rialie Fenske, their son Owen, and brand-new daughter wielded the extra-large scissors at the official ribbon cutting for their new gym, The Proving Ground, at1067 4th St NE #150 on June 11. A crowd of well-wishers from the Byron Chamber of Commerce, the city of Byron, and gym clients cheered them on.

The Byron Area Chamber of Commerce organizes ribbon cuttings for its members.

Gordon explained that the gym is a 24/7 fitness facility, and it is equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and security measures. Gordon explained the economical membership rates. He said new clients receive a free one-hour diet and exercise session with him and he has a collection of explanatory videos on his Facebook page for anyone interested in learning more about his state-of-the-art equipment.

It’s been a life-long dream of Gordon’s to open his own gym and he and Rialie chose Byron from all the other small towns in our area because, he explained, “…it’s the right size, and it’s full of friendly, family-oriented people.”

It turns out they made a good choice.

“We have been welcomed so warmly by this community,” he told the crowd.

For more information about joining the gym, please his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61557173789141.

Gordon can also be reached via email at gordon@provinggroundsbyron.com or by phone at (608)-228-4147. He’ll also be at the vendor fair during Good Neighbor Days if you’d like to visit with him.
